Zack and Wiki! Amazing reviews of all sorts of things… Music, movies, video games… stuff like that. Includes the Funny man, Soviet Love Story and other amazing bits sir.

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings on the Wii is a flawed action title, but does hold some redeeming qualities. The basic story is that Indy and his archrival Magnus Voller are in a race for the Staff of Moses. This takes you across the globe to try and claim the treasure. First off is the controls. The motion sensing can be annoying at times, especially during sections when you fly. It just feels too sensitive and you end up crashing too often. Other times when do special moves with Indy’s whip, or reloading are fun at first, but the novelty quickly wears off and can be a bit tiresome. When throwing punches the controls won’t always register, and since certain aspects of the game require precision, it can be really frustrating. Enemies are really generic and really don’t pose much of a challenge, but when having to pull off special moves with a not so responsive control scheme, simple attacks turn into frustrating battles. Graphically, Staff of Kings is not going to impress. Visuals look really dated, and I expected more from this particular title. Also, Indy really doesn’t look like himself, he looks like a cheap knock off. The musical score is probably the best thing about Staff of Kings, listening to the Indiana Jones score is always fun to listen too. Voice acting, however, isn’t on the same level and falls flat. An unlockable bonus is the classic 1992 point and click game Indiana Jones and Fate of Atlantis. Any true Indy fan will have a blast playing through this

The Shodown series originated with a fondly remembered 1993 arcade outing that was steeped …
