For the past few holiday shopping seasons, the Nintendo Wii has been one of the most popular video game consoles available. You can expect the same this year, as well. Nintendo has lowered the price of their Wii console for the first time ever, so now is the best time yet to purchase one. This year, brisk sales are again expected for the family oriented game system as it takes a price cut for the first time ever, allowing buyers to save more cash for Wii video games! Listed below are five of our most anticipated games scheduled to be released during the 2009 holiday season.

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010

This is the eleventh game in the WWE Smackdown series, and a sequel to WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009. The expected release date for this game is October 20, 2009, and the game will feature the WWE Superstars deliver the high impact action that you’re used to. According to THQ, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 will have several new and improved features, such as better create modes, as well as introducing a WWE Story Designer mode, in which a player will be able to design storylines based on the WWE’s weekly shows (Raw, SmackDown, or ECW) and pay-per-views with storylines, scenarios, and matches of their creations using a variety of options.

Yoga for Wii

The expected release date for Yoga forWii is November 4, 2009. The game features international top model Anja Rubik guiding you through the game, acting as your “personal trainer and motivator”, showing a modern method of obtaining higher body awareness and relaxation. Yoga for Wii will provide entertaining encouragement for you to improve, restore, and maintain your state of well-being, using a wide range of Yoga exercises, some of which use the balance board. Your workouts don’t always have to be fast, difficult or exhausting. Slow down your day and relax, with Yoga for Wii.

Pop’n Music

This popular Japanese arcade series, known for its bright colors, upbeat songs, and cute character graphics, finally makes its way to North America for the Nintendo Wii with a scheduled release date of November 10, 2009. Since the game was first introduced in Japan arcades in 1998, there have been 15 console game versions and several arcade versions, but this year will be the first time the game has been released in the United States. Pop’n Music is for all ages, and allows players to dance and move along to the beat of entertaining music!

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare-Reflex

Anything with the Call Of Duty name is going to be a great seller, and rightfully so. This shooting combat game has provided consistent quality ever since the earliest PC versions. For the first time in the series, Call of Duty moves away from WWII to the modern battlefield. The expected release date is November 10,2009.

Tony Hawk Ride

This game from the Tony Hawk skating franchise is back, with a new game and awesome new features. No longer do you have to use your thumbs to control your rider. With Tony Hawk Ride, you control your rider with foot-based controls similar to how you would ride a real skateboard. The controller is made to look like the deck of a skateboard with no wheels. This game is scheduled to be released in November of 2009.
